Housing Support Services Housing support programs aim to house people and keep them housed in social housing. Successful applicants must be eligible for Commonwealth Rent Assistance and/or public housing in Victoria. The Housing Network offers well maintained properties located throughout the Hume region of Victoria, to house low to middle income households in the community of their choice. No tenant pays more than 30% of their gross income on rent. Community housing is long term, secure housing with rents at below market value. Community Housing Under the banner of The Housing Network, RHNL provides community housing - affordable rental housing with a difference. Family Violence Working in conjunction with family violence services, RHNL provides: - Assistance with emergency accommodation for women and children who face homelessness due to an immediate risk of family violence - After hours accommodation options for perpetrators of family violence - Brokerage assistance to women and children to establish and maintain private rental as a long term housing option. Clients are encouraged to work towards a long term housing outcome, whether in private rental, public or community housing. RHNL matches the needs of people with the most appropriate and available housing. Transistional Housing provides secure, furnished short-term housing for people experiencing homelessness. RHNL delivers housing support through two key program areas: Social Housing Advocacy and Support Indigenous Tenants at Risk Homelessness Services Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) An IAP worker works with people who are homeless or at risk to resolve their housing issues, to link to support and to assist in finding and sustaining long term housing. This includes both public and community housing. The Housing Network is committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing and works with many other community organisations to encourage sustainable, long-term tenancies.
